Physical therapy has ancient roots, with practices dating back to ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt. Techniques such as manual therapy and exercise were used to treat pain and improve function. Modern physical therapy began to take shape in the 19th century with the development of orthopedics and the establishment of physical education institutions. Today, physical therapy is a well-established healthcare profession focused on rehabilitative practices to strengthen muscles, improve posture, and enhance overall well-being.
Occupational therapy has a rich history that began in the early 20th century. It originated from the mental health movement, emphasizing the therapeutic use of everyday activities to improve patients' mental and physical health. During World War I, occupational therapy played a crucial role in rehabilitating soldiers, helping them regain their independence through meaningful activities. Over the years, occupational therapy has evolved into a holistic practice that addresses both physical and mental health needs.
At Benton Franklin Orthopedic Associates, we believe in providing comprehensive care to address all aspects of our patients' health. By offering both physical and occupational therapy, we ensure that our patients receive a well-rounded approach to their rehabilitation. This integrated model allows us to focus on improving movement, daily living skills, and overall quality of life.
Our multidisciplinary team works together to create personalized treatment plans that cater to each patient's unique needs, leading to better outcomes and enhanced recovery.
Our therapists are highly trained and experienced in their respective fields. They are passionate about helping you achieve your goals and are dedicated to providing compassionate care. We believe in a collaborative approach, working closely with you and your healthcare providers to ensure the best possible outcomes.
